Kristina started MAVS in the summer of 2015 after graduating from Georgia State University with a master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. From 2015-2016, Kristina developed a work therapy program at the largest state psychiatrict hospital in GA. Kristina has helped individuals with disabilities receive and maintain employment for 5 years through supported employment and providing comprehensive vocational evaluations. Kristina’s passion for helping individuals begun early in her teen years when she would lend a helping hand or a shoulder to cry on for her friends. Over her college years, it evolved into her receiving her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and her Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling. Throughout her college years, she volunteered at counseling centers, was involved in research, had internships at the #1 trauma hospital and a private practice, and she had a job as a career specialist. As a career specialist, Kristina, helped individuals with disabilities receive and maintain employment. She enjoyed helping others be apart of the community and for the individual to contribute to their community. Kristina had many successes and positive experiences as a career specialist. During her internship at a private practice, she helped develop a business relationship with a Georgia VR office and the private practice. The VR office provided the practice referrals for counseling, comprehensive vocational evaluations, and social and adjustment groups. Kristina enjoyed working with VR clients so much that she has decided to open up a practice, specifically to work with Georgia’s Vocational Rehabilitation Agency and clients in and around the Metro-Atlanta area.
